SAPD: Woman killed by car on highway after heated argument with partner

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A woman lost her life in a tragic incident on a San Antonio highway Monday evening.

According to the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), the woman was struck and killed by a vehicle after an altercation with her significant other.

Authorities report that the woman, whose identity has not been released, was involved in an argument while traveling in a vehicle with her partner.

In the aftermath of the dispute, the woman exited the vehicle and began walking along the highway.

Unfortunately, as she ventured onto the roadway, an unrelated vehicle struck her. The driver of the vehicle that hit the woman remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement officials.

Police responded to the scene around 9:15 p.m. on Monday, after receiving multiple calls regarding a pedestrian being struck on the highway.

Emergency services arrived promptly, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver involved in the collision is not believed to have been impaired.

Investigators have stated no charges have been filed at this time, as they continue to gather information and analyze the events leading to the accident.

The SAPD has urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward to assist in the investigation.
